And as a predominately voluntary service, we also provide work opportunities, experience and training to people from the communities we work in. Providing a fun, productive work environment focused on the local community.
Why not volunteer with us?......
We have opened two new youth clubs in 2020 and therefore we need more volunteers to help run the projects. Perhaps one of our new projects will be of interest to you? Are you free on Monday or Thursday evenings?
Most Volunteers work once every four weeks (some every other week). It’s a commitment of 2 and a bit hours on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday night.
Volunteering involves helping set-up and take down, serving at the tuck shop, helping with the activities, and general interaction with the kids.
Don't worry if you have never done this before, all of us started like that. And there are always lots of other volunteers on at the same time, you work in pairs and we provide full training.
It's a great team to work with, and it can be very rewarding working with the kids. Don't just take my word on that, ask any of our volunteers!
Anyone interested in joining us, let me know.
We also need volunteers to do the office based stuff too. So if you don’t want to work with the kids directly, but would like to offer you time and skills doing admin type stuff, get in contact too.
So what activities and events we should offer in addition towhat we already run? What would you like to see us offer? Sports, games, films, speakers, homework support, food-based things?
Please let us know any ideas you have as we want to fill the youth suite with activities you want rather than what we think you want!
